The Definition of ‘Vidushi’ in Sanskrit means “wise person”, “knowledgeable”.
This fellowship is a cornerstone of our Move to Mutualism. It’s a 6-month program (Mid-July 2025 to End of January 2026) specifically for supporting partners to communities in Africa. We will facilitate a series of online meet-ups to exchange innovative work methods to work with communities, share pressing challenges, and collaboratively problem-solve. You will be enabled to participate and shape a peer-to-peer learning circle on the topic of self-reliance of communities.

Interactive Online Learning Circles: Engaging 1.5-hour sessions held every two weeks.
Participant-Driven Content: Each fellow brings a challenge and participates in joint problem solving by sharing their own practice/solution.
Focus Areas: Community mobilisation tools, Community agency, savings & accounting solutions , community livelihood models, market access strategies, different roles for community self-reliance and agency, capacity building for Community Leadership Groups and building a local ecosystem for support by and for communities.
Fund Required to cover Travel, Stay, and Academic Costs for the VIDUSHI Global Mutualism Fellowship – Africa, the estimated requirement is €3,500.
Financial Accessibility:
We believe financial constraints should not limit impact. Hence, we offer multiple pathways to make this fellowship accessible:
→ Scholarships – Merit and need-based financial aid for outstanding candidates.
→ Local Partnerships – Fellows can mobilize support from community organizations, NGOs, or aligned businesses.
→ Crowdfunding Support – Fellows will receive guidance from Drishtee to run effective crowdfunding campaigns.
Entrepreneurial partners working in Africa who are:
Mission-Aligned: Committed to fostering sustainable, independent, yet inter-reliant communities. Envisioning the communities to own the(ir own) organisation
Experienced: Possessing an entrepreneurial track record with 2-3 years of experience working directly with communities.
Collaborative & Open: Willing to share openly and eager to operate within an ecosystem.
Committed: Ready to dedicate approximately 2 hours every two weeks on a voluntary basis for 6 months. Eager to join in a 6-8 weeks participatory deep-dive learning exchange with Drishtee team and communities in India
Communicative: Some English fluency is required.
Ambition to Scale: Supporting at least 10 communities with an ambition to support hundreds.
Facilitators at Heart: Envisioning your own role as a weaver and facilitator, empowering communities to lead and co-create their own solutions.
